Welcome to First Baptist Church of Charlottesville online! We are a multigenerational community of disciples of Jesus Christ. We provide worship gatherings, bible studies, fellowship and outreach events, and service opportunities that are Christ-centered for people in the Central Virginia region.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS


As a Southern Baptist Church, we partner nationally with he Southern Baptist Convention (sbc.net) and locally with the Southern Baptist Convention of Virginia.


OUR PURPOSE


We exist to glorify God by making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ for the joy of all nations. 



OUR PRIORITIES

  • Worship


    Because God has given us new life through faith in Jesus Christ, we devote ourselves to joyfully worshipping him individually and corporately (cf. Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 10:24-25).

  • Word


    Because God has given us His Spirit to understand the Scriptures, we devote ourselves to growing in a relationship with Christ through individual and group Bible study and prayer (cf. Acts 2:42, 2 Peter 3:18).

  • Witness


    Because Jesus has given the church a commission to make disciples, we devote ourselves to going as witnesses for the Lord Jesus, aiming to reach our neighbors and the nations with the gospel (cf. Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8). 


  • WITHNESS


    Because God has united all believers into one body through faith in Christ, we devote ourselves to sacrificially loving and serving one another (cf. John 13:34-35, 1 Peter 4:10).
