ENDURING HOPE

Mark your calendars! Our third Central Virginia Bible Conference will be held March 23-25, 2025 at First Baptist Church on Park Street in Charlottesville. The theme for the Conference is Enduring Hope. Our desire is for the conference to encourage those who attend that the hope we have in Christ is sufficient to see us through all things.

  • Dr. Al Mohler

    Dr. Hershel York

    Southern baptish theological seminary - Dean of the school of theology

    as well as the Victor and Louise Lester Professor of Christian Preaching. After serving for 20 years as Senior Pastor of the Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort, Dr. York now devotes much time to helping churches and pastors stay focused on effective gospel communication and leadership, as well as hosting marriage seminars with his wife, Tanya. The author of two books on preaching and 40 Days in 1 Corinthians, Dr. York’s most recent work is The Salvation of Children. Preaching Today has included him among North America’s most effective preachers. He writes a regular column in Preaching magazine and hosts the popular PastorWell podcast. 


    He also earned a Master of Arts in Classical Languages.  He received the Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Philosophy in Greek and New Testament from the Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee.

    president of the southern baptist convention

    and Senior Pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina leading the church to exalt Christ, make disciples, and pass the torch of the gospel to the next generation. Clint is married to Connie, and they have two sons.


    A native of Charlotte, Clint joined Hickory Grove as a teenager before earning a Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College in South Carolina and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisiana. He pastored two churches in Mississippi before returning to Hickory Grove in 1999 as Senior Associate Pastor of Preaching. In 2004, he was called as Senior Pastor of the historic Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. In 2010, he returned once again to Hickory Grove as Co-Pastor and was installed as Senior Pastor in 2011.

    In June 2024, Clint was elected President of the Southern Baptist Convention. He also served the Convention as Vice President of the SBC Pastor’s Conference in 2013, First Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention in 2014-2015, Trustee of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary since 2015, and member of the NC Baptist Board of Directors since 2023.

  • Dr. Fred Luter

    franklin avenue baptist church - senior pastor

    was elected President of the Southern Baptist Convention, the first African American to hold that office. He is the Senior Pastor at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been married to his “Prime Rib” Elizabeth Luter since 1980. They are the proud parents of two children, and grandparents of two grandchildren.

    Pastor Luter says that Franklin Avenue’s mission statement is simple: To spiritually impact our families, neighborhoods, city, and state by Exalting the Savior, Equipping the Saints, and Evangelizing the Sinners. Pastor Luter's strategy for congregational growth is embedded in his concept he calls "FRANgelism"—the acronym "FRAN" standing for friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors where he encourages his congregation to invite them to come to church with you.

Pastor Dale Fields is a singer and pianist who has spent the last 24 years in pastoral and worship ministry. Throughout his career, Dale has remained committed to leading congregations in worshipping in spirit and in truth. 

 

He lives in the Charlottesville area with his wife Hannah. 

They have four children.
